***SAFE 06/30/16***DARLING DIOS TERRIFIC TABBY TIGER NEEDS NEW FRIEND! Dios is a super loving five year old fab fella who came into the shelter with several of his feline friends (including A1076931-Uno , A1076943- Seis, A1076945-Siete and A1076949-Diez–who are all listed tonight). Dios and his kitty companions were all “stray surrenders” but they all seem to be calm and gentle kitties who most likely once had homes. Each one deserves a new “leash” on life and a chance for a happy new life. Dios (like his purrfect pals) are low maintenance kitties who would be purrfect companions to just about anyone. Can you be the kind purrson to open your heart and home to Dios and perhaps one or more of his friendly feline pals? You can reserve this darling boy (who has a great average behavior rating) or contact a New Hope rescue who can help arrange transportation. Email our help desk and we will help you save Dios precious life–[email protected] Make the call for this terrific tabby tiger NOW!!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please note that Dios is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Reaction to assessor: Dios was sleeping at the back of the cage When spoken quietly: Dios looks up calmly at the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: Dios remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Dios allows petting and slowly comes the front seeking attention Try picking cat up: Dios is tolerant of this type of handling Behavior Determination: Average Dios was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying calm behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel at first but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Dios is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

A volunteer writes: I decided to write a little description of Dios because I fell in love with him when I met him and I want to plant that possibility in someone else’s head, too, so that he gets adopted. He is a big cat, full grown at 5 years old, and his brown tabby markings are just stunning. He gazes at you directly and comes right to the door of his kennel when you call out to him. Of course, I admit that he may come forward because I was holding out some wet food, which he absolutely adores, but still, he did come out to greet me. And if you’re not intimidated by the size of him, you will have the pleasure of stroking his neck, scratching his head and rubbing his chin, and all the while he will be acting like a mushball instead of a big, strong, handsome, princely cat. Do go meet this fellow and let me know what you think.
