***SAFE 10/21/16 *** WHAT WOULD POPE FRANCIS SAY?? VATICAN is on a kill list!! This two year old lady came into the ACC lactating but with no kittens…..she feels bad enough but then to be shoved into the noisy ACC is too much. VATICAN is coping with it as best she can….she has an EXPERIENCE rating but she warmed up with a gentle, slow approach. JUST THINK HOW MUCH BETTER SHE WILL BE IN A HOME!! Don’t wait to apply! GIVE VATICAN YOUR BLESSING TONIGHT!!

10/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Vatican was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Vatican was looking out at the front of the kennel with her body lowered and her tail tucked under her body. Reaction when softly spoken to: Vatican has wide, dilated eyes focused on the assessor’s movements and she doesn’t come forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Vatican becomes alert and lip licks. Reaction to touch: Vatican hisses with ears flattened when the assessor extends his hand out. She is unsure of contact and slowly leans forward to sniff the assessor’s hand and allows petting with a slow approach. Her body slowly relaxes then she approaches the front with her tail at body level and gives light head butts when rubbed on her head. Reaction to being picked up: Vatican was a bit tense when picked up but remains calm and leans in for rubs. Behavior Determination: Experience Vatican may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
