10/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Belgium was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was relaxed during intake and allowed the counselor to pick him up. He had a loose body throughout the intake process and was sociable during his initial medical exam, allowing all handling. Reaction to assessor: Belgium was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Belgium pokes his head forward and sniffs around. Reaction to cage door opening: Belgium and remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Belgium head-butts, leans in for petting, and starts to purr. He is very affectionate throughout the interaction and would knead on his blanket. Reaction to pick up: Belgium remains calm and continues to purr when held. Behavior Determination: Beginner Belgium interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
