I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 05/27/2017 from NY 10454, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

KNOWN HISTORY: Wars was brought in as a stray, so we have no information on his behavior in his previous home. He was calm during intake and allowed all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Allows all handling, docile, no aggression ENRICHMENT NOTES: 5/30/17 – Initially at the front, seemed a little agitated. Tense posture, whining, reported waving through the bars. Played vigorously when given toys, fella sleep in middle of cage. Woke later when door opened, seemed much calmer, soft eyes and body. Head-butted treats out of my hand, leaned and ached into pets. Came to the front and rubbed against the bars after doors closed. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Wars is asleep on top of his cat den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Wars lifts his head and brief looks at the assessor, then curls up and goes back to sleep. Reaction to cage door opening: Wars lifts his head and looks at the assessor again, remains calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Wars allows and then starts to lean into the stroke. Reaction to being picked up: Wars sits calmly in the assessor’s arms and looks around. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Affectionate, Independent BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Wars interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Please note that while Wars showed Average behavior during his assessment, due to an incident in the shelter, we recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent
