Charged and swatted between bars twice, then stayed hunched in place, hissing. Crept slowly forward for treats, lip licking. Reaction to cage door opening: Sade body tenses up, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Sade slowly sniffs the assessor’s hand, but began to hiss and paw (claws not exposed) to stop the interaction. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Sade is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
