08/27/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Oreo was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Oreo was relaxed on his blanket near the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Oreo makes eye contact with the assessor but doesn’t come forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Oreo remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Oreo is hesitant when you first approach him but allows petting. He sniffed the assessor’s hand and closes his eyes when touched along his body. His tail stays curled up at his side and his body is a bit tense. Oreo turns his head away and doesn’t come forward. Reaction to being picked up: Oreo had a tense body when held and looked around while lip licking. Behavior Determination: Experience Oreo may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
