SAFE 6/24/17 A volunteer writes: If EVER there was a sweet little doe-eyed darling, who seemingly loves cuddles, and equally enjoys falling asleep–head in your hand, it’s beautiful Nala. There’s no way to pass her by–she’s just too lovely. And she does this itsy bitsy teensy weensy meow–almost like she’s not sure if it’s ok to meow at you to say hello!! SO SO precious. She must’ve been treated well in her former household, as she was gentle as could be when I visited her. So, get your running shoes on, and SPRINT to the shelter and grab this sweet fur child and let her swap out her shelter digs, for a spot on your couch, snuggled up in blankets and love!
NEW PHOTO! Meet Nala: Nala is a sweet older cat that is shy at times but also very affectionate. She is a bit on the older side and would probably needs some extra care, but with the right amount of TLC she can still have a great life. Let’s help find this nice cat a home!

This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
Profile:
Basic Information: Nala is a 13yr old spayed Domestic Shorthair who was adopted from a pet store and was kept in the same home for all of her 13 years of life. Sadly she became a bit ill and the previous owner could not keep her anymore. She was last brought to the vet 3 months ago.
Socialization: Nala is known to be shy for a few minutes but overall friendly, relaxed, affectionate, respectful and playful with both strangers and children of all ages. She isn’t known to play much but when she does it’s very gentle. She has been socialized with dogs and she is respectful and relaxed with them however; she is not tolerant of other cats and will hiss and occasionally swat at them. Nala has also been around birds and is unbothered and tolerant of them.
Behavior: Nala will meow occasionally, likes to scratch the rug, enjoys going on car rides and will have a litter box accident a few times a week. She enjoys baths, getting her hair brushed and being picked up and held. She struggles to get her nails clipped and being put in the carrier and isn’t bothered when someone disturbs her sleep.
For a New Family to Know: Nala is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, very mellow, confident, somewhat shy, independent, and quiet but talkative when she’s hungry. She has a low activity level, nibbles when she wants attention, loves to play with catnip toys, string and balls and enjoys being in the same room as you. She has been kept indoors only, can sleep anywhere and eats Blue Buffalo wet food 3-4x a day. She likes the hooded litter box with clay litter but will occasionally have a litter box accident.
During intake Nala allowed all handling, being collard, having her picture taken and being put in a crate.
