ENRICHMENT NOTES:
06/04/17
Lying in kennel with a low body and ears flat, growling ad facing the back wall. He turns his head to look at when when I speak to him and vocalizes very loudly, growling. Very uncomfortable. Needs more time to adjust. Sprayed feliway and gave him two shorelines. He was screaming as I put them over his cage door.
06/05/17
Lying in litterbox with a low body and wide eyes, pupils dilated. He is hissing and growling (prolonged hisses that sound like a scream) when I lift the cage cover. He stops hissing to sniff the treats I hold in front of him that I placed on the bear-claw. He will lick them but won’t eat them in front of me. Continues to yell until I drop the cover and lock the door. I keep the interaction short – he is very uncomfortable and stressed out.
06/06/17
Meows softly at the front of the kennel, sitting straight up and looking around. He sniffs then gently rubs his body up against the cage furnishings. Allows petting all over, leans in for attention. His body perks up and he appreciates attention. He purrs when pet, rolls over on his side and loves treats. A bit tense when picked up due to his size but allows all handling.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively
VOCAL: Somewhat chatty
CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Calm, Affectionate
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average
Dude interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
