09/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Michelle has previously been exposed to other cats, dogs, and children. She is unbothered by other cats; she is afraid of and runs from dogs; and around children (infants through teenagers) she is tolerant. She was calm at the start of the intake but became agitated and tried to flee by the end; she also tried to flee during her initial medical examination. Michelle seems to have acclimated well with a few days in the care center. During her behavior evaluation Michelle allowed all petting and interacted readily with the assessor. Reaction to assessor: Michelle is resting in her litterbox. Reaction to cage door opening: Michelle stands, vocalizes. Reaction to touch: Michelle sniffs the assessor’s hand, then leans in for petting. She appreciates cheek scratches. Placement determination: Average Michelle interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. She has no known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. For her own comfort we recommend a home without dogs.
