09/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Deluca came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He allowed all handling at intake, though he growled and lunged at the cage bars during his initial medical examination. We cannot be certain how his medical condition may have affected his behavior during the exam. At the time of his behavior evaluation, Deluca was vocal, soliciting attention, and allowed all petting. Reaction to assessor: Deluca is at the front of the cage when the assessor approaches, body soft. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains in place, body soft. Reaction to touch: Deluca vocalizes and solicits attention by rubbing on the assessor’s hand. He allows petting on the head and body, and continues meowing for attention after the assessor has stepped away. Placemetn determination: Average Deluca interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
