***SAFE 08/14/16***”She arches her back, leans in for petting, and rolls over”…If there is only one thing you needed to know about MESHEW this is it……This is a stunning and sweet three year old whose owners dumped her supposedly for NYCHA but we all know that NYCHA will let you have one pet……the fact that they gave no owner surrender statement also speaks volumes….MESHEW has taken everything at the ACC in stride and instead of finding her a home, they gave her a cold and are now going to kill her if no one FOSTERS or ADOPTS her…..We’re tired of seeing no holds on cats!! RESCUES need people to step up!! Please email [email protected] for assistance…..SAVE MESHEW NOW!

08/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Meshew was brought in without information on her behavioral tendencies in a home environment. She was very calm and easy to get out of her carrier upon intake. She was nervous during her initial medical exam, but allowed handling to be conducted. Reaction to assessor: Meshew was lying down, calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Meshew looks at the assessor, averts her gaze, and blinks. She appears interested to interact and would shift her body weight closer to the front, but seems unsure. Reaction to cage door opening: Meshew remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Meshew sniffs the assessor’s hand and head-butts lightly. She arches her back, leans in for petting, and rolls over. Her tail is wrapped closely to her body, but she seems to really appreciate petting and attention, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Meshew is a bit tense, but remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Average Meshew interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
