Behavior Beginner:
Nutso’s previous owner reports he is friendly and outgoing around strangers. He has not lived with children, but is gentle and loves to play with adults. He was described as a friendly and playful cat, with a medium activity level. He tends to follow the owner around at home and prefers to stay in the same room as the owner.
Reaction to assessor: Nutso was calm and relaxed, lying down when approached.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Nutso meows, gets up, and greets the assessor by the front.
Reaction to cage door opening: Nutso remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Nutso head-butts, leans in for petting, and begins to purr. He is very affectionate throughout the interaction.
Reaction to being picked up: Nutso was tense during pick up, but remains calm when held.
Behavior Determination: Beginner
Nutso interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. He has not known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
Profile:

Basic information:
Nutso is a 12 year. old male domestic short hair mix. The owner surrendered Nutso because of his current health. Nutso is having trouble using the bathroom in the litter box and sometimes has trouble walking and the owner has not taken them to a vet recently.
Socialization:
The owner states that around strangers Nutso is friendly and outgoing. Nutso has not lived with children, but around adults he is gentle and loves to play. He has never been around dogs so the owner has no idea how Nutso would react around them. Nutso has never bitten or scratched anyone.
Behavior:
Nutso has never been bathed, had his nails trimmed. He does not mind having his coat brushed, being picked up and allows being placed in a cat carrier.
For a new family to know:
The owner describes Nutso as friendly and playful cat with a medium activity level. Nutso has never played with toys; he lives mostly indoors and sleeps anywhere in the house that he wants. In the home Nutso will follow the owner around and prefers to stay in same room as the owner. Nutso eats various brands of brand wet and dry cat food is feed two times a day. He is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter (However lately he does not use the Litter box anymore and pees outside the Box). Nutso has never been given a scratching post so the owner does not know if he will use it or not.
Behavior during intake:
During intake Nutso was clam with soft body, he allowed us to scan (-) put on collar, photographed and placed in cat kennel.
