I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/20/2016 from NY 11228, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-082039.

11/20/16 10:32 Finder stated that Fred allowed to be picked up and placed into a carrier without any issues. Finder did state that Fred is nervous at first and will try to flee but does allow all handling. Behavior during intake: Fred was nervous and had a stiff body. I was able to scan for a mc, collar and take a picture without any issues. When I tried to take a picture of Fred, he tried to flee at first but then allowed all handling.

Fred came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Fred was hissing but allowed handling. Reaction to assessor: Fred is sitting at the back of the cage, body neutral. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fred tenses. Reaction to cage door opening: Fred remains tense, motionless. Reaction to touch: Fred growls, moves away to avoid touch. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Fred does not approach the assessor, appears nervous, and avoids handling. Fred is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners who can find appropriate placement for her.
