Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Ebony was lying down on her blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ebony feint sleeps with her tail curled up at her side and doesn’t come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Ebony remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Ebony rises up with her ears bent flat when the assessor extends her hand out. She hisses, raises her paw as a warning and allows no contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Ebony is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
