11/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sigma was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home environment. He lived with lots of other cats and appeared well during intake. He was tense and nervous during his initial medical exam, and attempted to flee during handling. Reaction to assessor: Sigma was inside a hidey den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sigma does not respond and remains inside the den. Reaction to cage door opening: Sigma remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Sigma lowers his body as the assessor extends their hand and shifts away slightly. He remains immobile when touched, with his eyes squinting and his ears tilting sideways. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Sigma tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
