11/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Omicron was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home environment. He lived with lots of other cats and appeared well during intake. He was tense and nervous during his initial medical exam, and attempted to flee during handling. Reaction to assessor: Omicron was inside a hidey den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Omicron looks out from a hole on the den with almond-shaped eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Omicron becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Omicron pokes his head out of the opening of the den slightly, but shifts back inside when the assessor extends their hand. He wraps his tail tightly against his body and remains immobile during touch, his ears tilting sideways and he lip licks during the interaction. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Omicron tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
