11/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Puff Daddy was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home. He lived in a home with many cats. He was fearful during his initial medical exam, but allowed the medical team to conduct all handling. Reaction to assessor: Puff Daddy was sitting upright in the middle of his kennel, but crouches over and focuses on the assessor after noticing them. Reaction when softly spoken to: Puff Daddy’s body posture sinks even more and he starts to breathe rapidly. Reaction to cage door opening: Puff Daddy becomes stiff and alert, but remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Puff Daddy focuses on the assessor’s hand, but inches forward to sniff it. He accepts gentle petting with a slow approach, but he slowly attempts to shift away from contact. He curls up by the back corner and twitches when pet on his body, but is tolerant of petting. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Puff Daddy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
