01/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Perror was brought into the care center and his previous owner was unable to provide us with information on his behavioral tendencies in the home. He was very fearful upon intake and would not let anyone come close to him or pick him up. He was very nervous during his initial medical exam, but allowed all handling. Reaction to assessor: Perror was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Perror looks at the assessor and lowers his head behind his litter box. Reaction to cage door opening: Perror remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Perror lowers his head and lies flat, but allows all petting. He relaxes a little when pet on his chin and looks up at the assessor, but still seems wary of the environment. Placement Determination: Experience Perror tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
