His former owner left no info about FLUFFY’S likes or dislikes and FLUFFY has not wanted to interact with anyone from the ACC. This one year old really needs a helping hand tonight….Perhaps if he was pulled with his friend PERROR, he might feel less afraid. IF YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A PANTHER COMPANION OR TWO, PLEASE CONSIDER FLUFFY (& PERROR)…..They are already NEUTERED and just need someone to give them time and TLC. PLEASE HELP THESE TWO EBONY BUDDIES TONIGHT!! Contact the HELP DESK at [email protected] if you need assistance…..

01/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fluffy was brought into the care center and his previous owner was unable to provide us with information on his behavioral tendencies in the home. He was very fearful upon intake and would not let anyone come close to him or pick him up. He was very nervous during his initial medical exam, but allowed all handling. Reaction to assessor: Fluffy lowered his head behind his litter box upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fluffy peeks up a bit and looks at the assessor with squinty eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Fluffy becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Fluffy twitched when pet on his head and hisses. He continues to allow petting on his entire body, but he remains immobile and looks extremely uncomfortable. His ears tilt sideways and he lip licks throughout the interaction. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Fluffy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children. 1/27 update: Fluffy is not warming up to his caretakers and avoids interaction. He hisses when approached, though he does allow some gentle petting on the head. We have little information about his behavior in his previous home so we cannot be sure of how his behavior may change in a home environment, but Fluffy will not thrive in our busy adoptions area so we recommend placement into a stable home environment as quickly as possible.
