10/05/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Julius was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Julius was hunched over at the front of the kennel looking out at his surroundings. Reaction when softly spoken to: Julius makes eye contact and becomes alert. His ears perk up and he constantly is scanning the area looking at his environment. Reaction to cage door opening: Julius slowly inches away from the front. Reaction to touch: Julius lowers his head when the assessor extends out and closes his eyes when touched. He allows petting and slowly takes time to warm up to contact. After a couple soft passes he leans against the assessor’s hand allowing rubs and slowly approaches the front of the kennel. Reaction to being picked up: Julius has a very tense body, lip licks and curls up in the assessor’s arms. Behavior Determination: Experience Julius may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
