And poor YONKERS happened to wander into this person’s yard and bam! Trapped! YONKERS is a 10 week old little house pantherette and she is afraid. She was a bit hissy at the assessor and who could blame her. She is a baby!! YONKERS is PERFECTLY HEALTHY and ADOPTABLE. She is frightened- yes – but that’s where YOU come in. With a little patience, love, food motivation – this kitten will be purring her heart out for you in no time!! PLEASE DON’T LET YONKERS BECOME ANOTHER STATISTIC IN THE ACC BOOKS! Kitten was transferred directly from trap to den. Client has frequently trapped strays that have wandered into her yard. She traps them in an attempt to control the influx of strays in the neighborhood.

Yonkers came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Yonkers attempted to flee. Reaction to assessor: Yonkers is at the front of the cage, hissing. Reaction when softly spoken to: Yonkers spits at the assessor, ears flat. Reaction to cage door opening: Yonkers retreats to the back of the cage. Reaction to touch: Yonkers strikes at the assessor, hisses, does not allow handling. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Yonkers does not approach the assessor, appears nervous, and does not allow handling. Yonkers is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners.
