TOBIN – A1068812
Safe - 4-6-2016 Manhattan Rescue: All Sentient Beings Please honor your pledges: http://animalloversnetwork.org/
**SAFE 04/06/16** When will people learn to leave well enough alone? Poor TOBIN was hanging out in a building when he was “found” by someone, someone who couldn’t WAIT to rush over, grab him, and take him to the ACC. Mind you, TOBIN was trying to disappear by pressing himself into a corner while all this was going down, probably hoping that person would go away so HE could stroll back home. It’s TOO LATE for that, since someone meddled where they really didn’t need to be meddling. TOBIN has a date with death TOMORROW, unless a FOSTER/ADOPTER can be found for him TONIGHT!

They stated he was huddled in a corner when they spotted him, Tobin allowed them to pick him up and place him into a container they had. During intake Tobin had a low body posture but still allowed all handling with no issue. Tobin allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of including positioning him during his photo session Tobin didn’t seem to mind being picked up/held and was placed into a kennel with ease.

04/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Tobin came into the care center as a stray to we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was tolerant of handling at intake and during his initial medical examination, though he was very tense. During an interaction with our enrichment facilitator Tobin was napping under his blanket but was unconcerned when it was removed, allowed petting and dozed back to sleep. Tobin does not appear to be acclimating well to the care center environment as he did not allow interaction during his behavior evaluation two days later. Reaction to assessor: Tobin is hiding under his blanket, eyes visible and pupils dilated. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains immobile under the blanket. Reaction to touch: When the assessor lifts the blanket to interact and reaches toward Tobin, he retreats and hisses. In light of his stress level and hesitancy to interact, the assessment is ended at this point. Placement determination: Experienced home without children Tobin his allowed some gentle touch and handling but he appears to be fearful and stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. We have little information on his behavior prior to arriving and have had limited interactions in the care center; Tobin has not aggressed but has appeared at least moderately uncomfortable with his caretakers. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
