12/04/16 17:29 Basic information: Sophie is a 3 year old spayed female. She was found as a stray one year ago. She was surrendered because her previous owner has too many pets and can’t care for them all. The last time she went to the vet was June of 2016. She has no known injuries or health problems. Socialization: Around strangers Sophie is friendly and outgoing and gentle at play. She lived with 7 other cats and was friendly with her daughter but aggressive toward the other adults and kittens. She hissed, growled and chased them. When she played with her daughter she was gentle. Behavior: Sophie has never bitten a person or animal. She enjoys being picked up and isn’t bothered when placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to know: Sophie is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and quiet with a medium activity level. Her previous owner liked that she’s gentle and affectionate. When her previous owner was home she would tend to be in the same room. She liked to play with balls. She was kept indoors only and at night she slept under her owner’s bed. She ate both wet and dry Friskies and Meow mix. She is litter box trained and used an uncover litter box and clumping litter. She used a scratching post made of twine. Behavior during intake: Sophie allowed me to pet her, collar her and pick her up. He body was low and tense but she purred and head-butted when pet. She showed no signs of aggression.

Former owner stated around strangers Sophie is friendly and outgoing and gentle at play. She lived with 7 other cats and was friendly with her daughter, but defensive towards the other cat. When she played with her daughter she was gentle. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and quiet with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Sophie immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Sophie remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Sophie head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. Placement determination: Beginner Sophie interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
