SCOOBY – A1078541
Safe - 7-2-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
**SAFE 07/02/16** TRAPPED PET! That’s right, SCOOBY belongs to someone, but that person must not know he is at the ACC or they certainly would have gone to rescue him. This gorgeous 4-year-old boy was found to have CLIPPED NAILS during his shelter intake exam, so who knows how this indoor cat wound up in the not-so-great outdoors? He was probably the apple of somebody’s eye, but tonight he’s just one more cat the shelter plans to kill tomorrow. This guy has an EXPNOCHILD rating and needs a foster/adopter to save his life, tonight!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Scooby was at the back of the cage watching the assessor nervously When spoken quietly: Scooby continues to watch the assessor nervously Reaction to door cage opening: Scooby remains motionless Reaction to touch: Scooby was very uncomfortable and tense but allowed petting Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Scooby was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
