***SAFE 06/25/16*** Gentle SAM is a senior beauty queen whose back story is a little bit busy. Her shelter notes indicate that she spent the first decade or so of her life, sharing a home with her littermate Rags (already safe) and generally being an awesome BFF. She was gifted from one human family member to another, but then it sounds like all those people ended up living together for the past year anyway, and then BOOM! On June 5th, someone decided they were allergic to SAM and Rags. Rags has already been pulled by a New Hope rescue so tonight is all about SAM! The ACC gave her an EXPERIENCE rating, they have listed 2 different ages for how old she is, and tomorrow, they plan to kill her. SAM is spayed and ready to be whisked off to a happily-ever-after, so make that possible by finding a foster/adopter for her tonight!

06/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sam’s previous owner reports she is shy around strangers, and takes days to warm up to them. She does not engage in play with adults, and has not been around children or dogs. She has lived with her littermate and is relaxed and affectionate with the cat. She likes to lounge around the home and has a low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Sam was lying down by the back, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sam blinks softly and averts her gaze. Reaction to cage door opening: Sam remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Sam sniffs the assessor’s hand and head-butts gently, but she curls up tightly and closes her eyes. She appears to appreciate petting and attention, but lip licks during the interaction. Placement Determination: Experience Sam tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
