***SAFE 03/21/16 ***SCARED AND SAD SAM NEEDS RESCUE ANGEL! Poor Sam! The terrific three year old tux looks despondent in his intake pic and who can blame him? This scared kitty was trapped and came into the shelter with a wound for which he is being treated. This handsome boy also tested positive for FIV–which is really no biggie since FIV+ kitties can lead long and happy lives–and co-exist fine with non FIV cats. But now he has been slapped with a NH rating due to being positively petrified at the shelter and who can blame him? This sad boy knows the odds are stacked against him. He needs a kind purrson to offer him a new “leash” on life by opening up their heart and home–even if it is just temporary–as a foster. Could that special someone be you? Please email our help desk if you can be Sam’s hero–[email protected]. Sam deserves to live but won’t get that chance unless we do everything we can to save him tonight. Make the call for this terrific tux NOW!!!!

03/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Sam looks tense in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Sam remains sitting upright on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Sam avoids contact, growls, and attempts to escape the cage. Placement determination: NH ONLY Sam is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
