**SAFE 04/11/16** TERRIFIC TORBIE KITTEN NEEDS NEW FRIEND-BE SALLY BROWN’S HERO! Sally Brown is an absolutely adorable ten month old kitten who would love to be your furever friend. Sadly, she was abandoned on the street with six other cats (several of who were already rescued and a couple who are still available). She is calm, gentle and tolerant of petting–a little bit shy. So she should probably go to a quiet home without kids. Obviously, she is used to living with other kitties. Can you open your heart and home to this lovely little girl by offering to foster or adopt? Please reserve Sally Brown online or contact a New Hope rescue for assistance. Transportation is available. Email our help desk for assistance–[email protected] Sally Brown would be a purrfect sofa snuggler. Please give her a chance for a happy new life by making the call for this terrific torbie kitten NOW!!!

04/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sally Brown came into the care center as a stray so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. At intake Sally Brown was tense and at times tried to flee, but she tolerated handling. She was also tolerant during her initial medical examination, though tense and nervous. When interacting with our enrichment facilitator, Sally was timid, startling at noises. She allowed touch and petting but remained tense. During the second interaction she again tolerated petting but vocalized and his her face. She hissed briefly when the petting stopped. Sally showed similar behavior at the time of her evaluation, allowing touch but remaining tense at the back of her cage. Reaction to assessor: Sally is at the back of her cage, watching the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains at the back, tense. Reaction to touch: Sally allows a brief and gentle touch on the head, then begins ducking away from the assessor’s hand. She continues tolerating very gentle touch but does not relax, approach, or solicit. Placement determination: Experienced home without children Sally Brown tolerates attention and petting appears to be fearful and stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Her level of socialization is unknown and she may need time to warm up to her new home and may need to build confidence and comfort around her human caretakers. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
