10/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Salem was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to him behavior in him previous home. Reaction to assessor: Salem was relaxed on his blanket with his paws folded under his body. Reaction when softly spoken to: Salem is curious and leans forward towards the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Salem remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Salem seems unsure but leans forward to sniff the assessor’s hand. He allows petting with a slow, gentle approach and watches the assessor when touched along his back. After a couple soft passes he warms up, comes forward and brushes up against the assessor’s hand for attention. His body feels a bit tense but he is confident and stays at the front giving light head butts. Reaction to being picked up: Salem was a bit tense when picked up, remains calm then gets antsy and leaps away. Behavior Determination: Experience Salem may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
