11/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rakim was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home. He lived in a home with many cats. He was fearful during his initial medical exam, but allowed the medical team to conduct all handling. Reaction to assessor: Rakim was hiding underneath his bedding upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Rakim does not respond. Reaction to cage door opening: Rakim shifts a bit underneath his blanket, but continues to hide. Reaction to touch: Rakim becomes alert when his bedding was removed, but he stays frozen, lying down. He remains immobile when touched and flinches slightly when touched on his body, but tolerates gentle petting on his entire body. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Rakim tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
