I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/26/2016 from NY 11213, owner surrender reason stated was LLORDPRIVA.

10/26/16 19:06 Basic Information Putty is a 17 year old spayed domestic short hair. She is being surrendered due to landlord restrictions. Owner got Putty from her mother a year ago. Owner stated Putty has no medical issues but has never taken her to a vet. Socialization Putty is described as shy for a few minutes. She lived with kid’s ages 2 and 11. She did not interact with the kids. Owner stated she does not play with adults or kids. She has not lived or spent time with cats or any other kind of animal. She has never bitten a person or animal. Behavior Owner stated she has no behavior issues. She meowed a lot during the bus ride to our shelter. Owner has never trimmed Putty nails or bathed her. She does not like being placed in a carrier, she will struggle. She does not like being held for too long. She is not bothered if disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know Putty is described as mellow, independent, and quite with a low activity level. Owner stated she responds to her name. At home she will rarely seek attention. She does not play with toys. She was kept indoors only and slept anywhere. She was fed dry and wet food, brand name Nine Lives. She was given either 2 cans per day of wet food or owner would fill a small bowl of dry food once a day. She uses a hooded cat litter box with clay style litter in it. She would scratch on the corners of couches made out of fabric. Behavior during Intake Putty did not tolerate handling. She hissed, swatted, and attempted to bite.

10/29/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Putty’s former owner described her as shy for a few minutes. She lived with kid’s ages 2 and 11. She did not interact with the kids. Owner stated she does not play with adults or kids. She has not lived or spent time with cats or any other kind of animal. Also, described as mellow, independent, and quite with a low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Putty looks tense, sitting upright by the front when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Putty remains in place, stress meowing. Reaction to touch: Putty does not allow the stroke then hisses and swats at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Putty is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She isstressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
