I am a male brn tabby and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 10/20/2016 from NY 10029, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

10/20/16 15:52 Basic Information Nino is a five year old male domestic short hair who is being surrendered because he is sick and owner does not want to take care of him any longer. Owner found him as a stray a few months back. He has what appears to be an ear infection and he emits a weird odor. Nino last saw a vet back in August of this year. Socialization Nino is friendly around strangers. He has spent time around a 5 year old child. He was tolerant of the child. He plays in a gentle manner with kids and adults. He has never lived or spent time with other cats, dogs, or any other kind of animal. He has never bitten a person or animal. Behavior Owner stated Nino has no behavior issues and has never been in a car. Owner has never bathed or brushed Nino. He is afraid of nail trimming and will struggle a bit. He does not like being picked up for too long. He is not bothered if placed in a carrier or if bothered when sleeping. For a New Family to Know Nino is described as friendly and affectionate with a medium activity level. Owner stated he will follow him around when home. Nino does not have any toys. He was kept indoors only and sleeps anywhere. He was fed Friskies dry cat food. Owner gave him a cup twice a day. He uses an uncovered cat litter box with crystal style litter. Owner stated he does not scratch. Behavior during Intake Nino tolerated all handling during intake. He purred and arched back when I petted him. No signs of aggression were displayed during the intake procedure.

Nino’s previous owner reports he is friendly around strangers. He has spent time with a child and was tolerant of this child. He plays in a gentle manner with kids and adults. He may not like being picked up and held for too long, but is unbothered when placing into a carrier. He was described as a friendly and affectionate cat with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Nino was calm and relaxed by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Nino looks at the assessor with almond-shaped eyes and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Nino remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Nino was slightly hesitant and his ears tilt sideways, but he accepts petting and leans against the assessor’s hand. He arches his back when touched on his shoulders and closes his eyes. Reaction to being picked up: Nino was tense during pick up, but rests calmly against the assessor. Behavior Determination: Average Nino interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with an average amount of experience.
