10/21/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Duncan was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Duncan was at the front of the kennel looking out at her surroundings. Reaction when softly spoken to: Duncan retreats into her litter box, curls up and watches the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Duncan remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Duncan is unsure of contact and slowly leans away when the assessor extends her hand out. She sniffs the assessor’s hand and closes her eyes when rubbed on her head. After being pet along her body slowly she starts to open up. She raises her body up when pet and slowly approaches the front but is alert and wary of her surroundings. Reaction to being picked up: Duncan is very tense when picked up then struggles to be put down. Behavior Determination: Experience Duncan may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
