***SAFE 11/17/16***NIKO LIKES TO PLAY WITH DOGS – THE BIGGER, THE BETTER! A volunteer writes: I felt someone tugging at the hand sanitizer on my purse. I looked down and saw Niko stretching out to me. Maybe he is just getting tired of washing his paws with his tongue. Anyway, I knelt down to see him and liked what I saw. Niko is very playful and friendly. He previously lived with adults but also spent time with kids and dogs. He actually prefers to play with big dogs rather than small ones. He uses his litter box but his kennel card says he has a spraying issue. Please note: Niko will be neutered before he goes to his forever home, and this could make all the difference.
A volunteer writes: Friendly Niko loves attention and can’t get enough of it! This golden-eyed beauty scampered right up to me affectionately, rolling around and purring. He’s also energetic and enjoyed playing with a toy. Niko is clearly used to and really comfortable with handling, and set his head between my hands while I scratched his cheeks.

We are unaware of what, if any, modifications steps were taken to try and address this behavior in the home, so we cannot be sure what the trigger may have been or if this behavior may continue in a future home. However, we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for feline spraying should this behavior continue in a home.
