10/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kennedy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was found in a zoo with two of her kittens. The workers reported she wasn’t social and attempted to scratch during transport. She was very tense upon intake and did not allow handling. She also attempted to flee during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Kennedy was inside a den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kennedy does not respond and remains motionless. Reaction to cage door opening: Kennedy shifts around in her den, but does not come out. Reaction to touch: The assessor lifted the den and flipped it to get a better view of Kennedy. She appeared alert and was looking around, wary of her surroundings. She did not seem to notice as the assessor reached in to pet her. Her body was tense, but she continued to look around her surroundings and would lip lick. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Kennedy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
