***GONE 10/10/16*** TEN MONTH OLD NELLY WANTS TO LEAD THE LIFE OF A HIP-HOP STAR…BUT INSTEAD THE ACC ISN’T HIP TO HIS FEAR, AND WILL HOP AT THE CHANCE TO KILL THIS HEALTHY, YOUNG KITTEN! His little face pleads with you to save his life. But that’s just not enough for some folks. No, for some, it’s just easier to turn a blind eye to the tragic NYC cat killers and talk about the upcoming election… meanwhile the REAL PROBLEMS BEGIN AND END AT THE NYC ACC! His fear has given him a “hopeless” RESCUE ONLY RATING! But if you offer to FOSTER OR ADOPT, a New Hope rescue can remedy this situation! Just contact our Help Desk at [email protected] and we will guide you through the process. It’s as simple as THAT…so get to it!

10/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Nelly was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Nelly was crouched with his paws under his body near the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Nelly hissed with ears bent flat and slowly backed away with his tail curled at his side. Reaction to cage door opening: Nelly hisses and lies motionless. Reaction to touch: Nelly has low body posture, lip licks then hisses and swats when the assessor extends his hand out. He is very uncomfortable and quickly runs forward trying to escape the kennel. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Nelly is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
