Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Denmark was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Denmark was lying down on his blanket near the front of the kennel with wide eyes. Reaction when softly spoken to: Denmark becomes alert the slowly inches backwards with his tail lowered at his side. Reaction to cage door opening: Denmark remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Denmark keeps his body lowered and is constantly looking around the kennel for an exit. He becomes immobile when touched; lip licks then quickly becomes uncomfortable and runs forward trying to flee the kennel. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Denmark tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
