06/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Mufasa and at the time she was curled up in litter box. Mufasa allows petting but looks uncomfortable. Mufasa lowers head and lip licks. Reaction to assessor: Mufasa does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Mufasa does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Mufasa remains motionless Reaction to touch: Mufasa seems indifferent to my presence and touch at first but slow warms up Try picking cat up:Mufasa is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience Mufasa was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. I was also able to pick her up and although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
