SAFE 4/18/18 No Tail? No Problem! Check Out Friendly Orange Mishu! @BACC. Mishu is a 10 year old, DSH female who was not spayed prior to coming into the shelter. She has no known health issues or injuries and has not seen a vet recently. She was given to the owner from a friend about 1 year ago and was surrendered due to the family moving and not being able to take her.

Oral Exam: adult dentition with moderate dental disease, no oral lesions noted
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: FI, no MGTs, no vulvar d/c
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities

Behavior:

04/10/18: Lying in back of cubby, body pressed up against kennel door. Flattens ears and hisses when spoken to, then begins to growl. Tries to back away further to avoid touch. Very uncomfortable, needs more time to adjust. Added to socialization list.

Mishu is friendly and outgoing when meeting new people. She will approach them and seek attention.

Mishu has lived with children before and was very relaxed and affectionate around them.

Mishu has not spent time around other cats.

Mishu has not spent time around dogs before.
Behavior Notes
Mishu’s owner has not tried to bathe her recently, and she has not tried to trim her nails. Mishu allows her owner to brush her and pick her up to hold her.

Mishu is described as being friendly, affectionate and playful. She has been an indoor cat and likes to follow her family around when they are home. She likes to play with stuffed toys, catnip toys and string toys. She sleeps in her owners bed, she eats both wet and dry food, and is litter box trained using an uncovered box with clumping or crystal litter. She did not have a scratching post in her previous home.
