KNOWN HISTORY: Mimi was brought into our care center as a stray so her previous history is unknown. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – very sweet. Easily handleable and easy to pick up. Enjoys being held and did well for all medical handling and procedures. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Mimi is lying in the back of the kennel with a relaxed body as the assessor approaches. Ears are forward. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mimi stretches and rolls over onto her side when spoken to, making eye contact with soft eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Mimi remains relaxed as the cage door opens. Reaction to touch: Mimi allows petting along her head and body while leaning in and beginning to purr. After a few moments she stands up and comes forward with her tail raised. Reaction to being picked up: Mimi remains calm when picked up and held in the assessor’s arms. After a couple of moments Mimi becomes wiggly and jumps back into her kennel. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Affectionate, Calm POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: -Sick (URI) cats: Please note that Mimi is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Mimi interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
