10/02/16 18:09 BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: In her carrier Madison was seated towards the front by the door. She appeared calm and her eyes were squinting. It took some time and effort to get her out of the carrier but once she was out she began to purr. She allowed the counselor to pet her, collar and photograph her with ease. At one point she was laying on her side and purring while the counselor pet her. She then allowed the counselor to pick her up and place her back into the carrier.

Reaction to door opening: Madison remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Madison head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. Placement determination: Beginner Madison interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
