SHE’S BEEN DUMPED AFTER 10 YEARS FROM A SELFISH OWNER WHO NOW, “HAS NO TIME!!!” LUCKY was a gift to the previous owner, a mistake that many people continue to make and most often ends with the animal being DUMPED in a shelter! She has been SPAYED and socialized with one cat…not around kids or dogs! Now, this sweet girl is definitely going to have trust issues so an EXPERIENCED person is best! I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/08/2016 from NY 11225, owner surrender reason stated was NO TIME. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-077337.

10/10/16 Geriatric exam O: QARH. Hiding in back of cage, appears stressed. mm=pink, moist. ORAL: Limited exam – mod to severe calculus visible. EENT: No oculonasal discharge. ABD: Too tense to fully assess, unable to palpate deeply. MS: Amb x 4. INTEG: Full, clean haircoat. A: Apparently healthy senior cat except for dental disease. P: Good prognosis.

10/08/16 19:54 BASIC INFORMATION Lucky is as spayed white and brown tabby that is 10 years old. The owner received lucky as a gift when she was just a kitten. The owner is surrendering Lucky due to having no time caring for the cat. Lucky has no known illness. SOCIALIAZATION Lucky has never been around small children or teenagers. Lucky is friendly and outgoing with stranger. She jumps on the couch and solicits attention. She has lived with 2 adults and she is affectionate. She lived with one spayed DSH cat. They live in harmony and lounge around the house together. BEHAVIOR Lucky has never received a bath. She is fearful and struggle getting her nails trimmed. She is fine being picked up and going into the carrier. Lucky always uses her hooded litter box. She has never has a bite or scratch history. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Lucky is described as friendly, assertive and confident. Lucky loves to meet new people and sniffed them curiously. Lucky enjoys being petted. Throughout most of the day she enjoys sleeping and sun bathing. Lucky enjoys a diet of Meow mix dry or wet. She loves to play with catnip toys. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Lucky during intake was fearful and attempted to flee. She was nervous and allowed minimal handling.

1As per previous owner, Lucky has never been around children or teenagers. Around strangers she is friendly and outgoing and solicits attention. She lived with a spayed cat and was relaxed with her and lived in harmony. Lucky doesn’t mind being picked up or be placed in a carrier. Her owner describes her as friendly, assertive and confident. Reaction to assessor: Lucky was curled up inside her litter box facing the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lucky curls up tight when spoken to softly then lip lips and turns away. Reaction to cage door opening: Lucky remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Lucky leans away when the assessor extends his hand out then lip licks and closes her eyes when touched. She allows petting and slowly warms up when pet and rubbed along her body. She tilts her head for rubs then slowly raises her rear when rubbed near her tail. Behavior Determination: Experience Lucky may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
