***SAFE 04/16/16 *** HELP! The Story Of Two Kims, goes like this: Once upon a time, there were two grey-and-white cats that were minding their own business in the 11249 zip code. Someone trapped those cats, bringing them to the ACC and starting the clock ticking. At the ACC, these girls were named KIM K and KIM FIELDS, they were assigned estimated ages, and they were warehoused for 72 hours. During that time, these freaked-out beauties were menaced by someone who slapped them with a New Hope rating, and both cats were scheduled to be killed. Please refer to their shelter notes, because their behaviors are explained in detail there. Kim K is thought to be about 11 years old, Kim Fields is thought to be about 2 years old, and both will die tomorrow if no one steps up for them tonight.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Kim Fields. At the time she rises up and shifts to the back. Kim Fields keeps her tail lowered under body and raises paw as warning to back away. Kim Field ears go flat as she hisses. Reaction to assessor: Kim Fields does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Kim Fields does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Kim Fields becomes stiff and alert Reaction to touch: Kim Fields hisses, strikes and does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Kim Fields seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Kim Fields may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
