S~ 8 years (spay scar easily palpated) Ears, eyes, nose, throat clear Teeth stained, mild gingivitis, mild tarter, some wear Coat clean, mild dandruff/shedding. No flea dirt or parasites noted. BEHAVIOR
As per previous previous care taker Candy is friendly and outgoing. She plays gentle with adults. She has lived with children and is relaxed but didn’t interact with them. She has lived with other cats and is relaxed but she doesn’t play with other cats. She has no experience being around dogs. She is described as being playful and likes to get rubs.
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Candy and at the time she was hesitant at first then comes forward. Candy allows petting all over and starts to purrs.
Reaction to assessor: Candy does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed while rolling around
When spoken quietly: Candy comes to the front of cage and solicting attention
Reaction to door cage opening: Candy remains soft and relaxed
Reaction to touch: Candy solicits petting and attention
Try picking cat up: Candy tolerant of this type of handling
Behavior Determination: Beginner
At the time of the assessment Candy was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Candy is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner.

Another volunteer writes: Candy was my favorite kitty in the adoption room today. I’m sure it’s because she reminds me of my own baby girl, but she is so, so sweet that I couldn’t help but fall in love with her, too. She wanted nothing other than to be caressed, ignoring her food and just rolling over on her back and throwing her head back to present her chin for some rubbing, this way, then that way. She is a total love bug, eight years young and in need of a special person to make her the object of their affection. What a wonderful cat Candy is!
