S: shy, overweight cat with hairloss.
O: Hairloss noted on legs, lateral trunk, and on ventrum. Small area of rusty discoloration in L inguinal area.
A: Given hx of death in family, this cat may be barbering her haircoat (psychogenic alopecia). The other likely possibilities are metabolic (hormonal) disease vs skin parasites.
P: recommend placement with evaluation at private veterinarian. Continue to observe health status (including appetite), while in shelter.
