***SAFE 06/07/16 *** SECOND CHANCE FOR MARGO TONIGHT!! MARGO AKA ICEMAN was found as a stray in Staten Island. Margo is a 2 year old gray and white female who is gorgeous but very afraid. Because she’s very fearful, she’s available through New Hope Rescue. She’s desperately hoping for a foster home or fur-ever home so she can show her calm happy side! Contact a NEW HOPE rescue tonight so she won’t be put to death tomorrow at the shelter. Please foster or adopt this lovely lady and save her life!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Margo came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Margo did not allow handling and attempts to flee. Reaction to assessor: Margo is hiding in her den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Margo does not approach but appears neutral. Reaction to cage door opening: Margo becomes stiff, alert and retreats. Reaction to touch: Margo tries to bite. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Margo is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Margo is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
