Safe - 6-7-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
***SAFE 06/07/16*** MARGO AKA ICEMAN AND SLYDER were found as strays in Staten Island. Margo is a 2 year old gray and white female who is gorgeous but very afraid. Because she’s very fearful, she’s available through New Hope Rescue. She’s desperately hoping for a foster home or fur-ever home so she can show her calm happy side! MARGO was brought in with SLYDER, a beautiful brown stripe PREGNANT tabby cat, around 2 years old. SLYDER was brought into the shelter as a stray and tolerates petting and attention, but she might be intimidated around small children. She would make a great addition to an experienced pet home with no children. MARGO, SLYDER and SLYDER’s unborn baby kittens are all desperately hoping for a rescue tonight so they won’t be put to death tomorrow at the shelter. Please foster or adopt these lovely ladies and a soon to be cat family!

06/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Slyder came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Slyder would attempt to flee but allowed handling in her medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Slyder is laying in her litter box, scared, ears down, eyes wide. Reaction when softly spoken to: Slyder continues to hide. Reaction to cage door opening: Slyder crouches down to continue hiding. Reaction to touch: Slyder moves away to avoid touch but then she lies down and allows the assessor to touch her all over. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Slyder tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children. Please be advised that Slyder is pregnant at the time of assessment, and the behavior presented at the time of evaluation may differ when pregnancy is complete due to a change in hormonal balance.
