***SAFE 03/13/16*** 3 HOUSEMATES LISTED TONIGHT ARE PART OF A LARGER GROUP OF CATS WHICH CAME IN – FANTASY, FIONA AND COLLINS ALL NEED NEW HOMES BEFORE THE CLOCK STRIKES NOON! Sadly, we have more cats from a hoarding situation on tonight’s list. FANTASY, FIONA and COLLINS are all young kitties and only FANTASY has the shelter cold tonight. The other 2 are perfectly healthy. All 3 of them are afraid and nervous and received an EXPNOCHILD rating at the shelter. We all know that these cats are used to being with other kitties and people and most likely are friendly. However being carted away to a scary shelter and put in separate cages probably has rattled them. So we are not surprised they are nervous. All three of them deserve a good loving home! If you can help these beautiful cats, please email our HELP DESK at [email protected] for rescue contact info. OFFER TO ADOPT ONE, TWO OR THREE – BUT HELP THESE INNOCENT LIVES FIND A HAPPY ENDING TO THEIR STORIES TONIGHT!

03/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fantasy was brought in to the care center without information on her behavior in her previous home. The only information that was given to us was she has not been socialized with people. She became defensive during her initial medical exam and would hiss and attempt to flee. Reaction to assessor: Fantasy becomes stiff and alert and is crouched over. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fantasy looks at the assessor and slowly comes to the front to sniff the assessor. After a moment, she starts to eat. Reaction to cage door opening: Fantasy continues to eat. Reaction to touch: Fantasy stops eating and pauses to look at the assessor’s hand. She allows gentle petting, but will slowly retreat to the back of her kennel and would flip her head to watch the assessor’s hand when pet on her body. She seems extremely wary of the environment and lip licks. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Fantasy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
