*** SAFE 01/14/16 *** SECOND CHANCE TO BRING THIS GUY HOME TO YOUR IGLOO!! ESKIMO NEEDS HELP TONIGHT TO ESCAPE WHAT THE ACC HAS PLANNED FOR HIM AT NOON TUESDAY – CAN YOU FOSTER OR ADOPT THIS CAT?? ESKIMO is about 6 years old and neutered. He was brought into the shelter as a stray but the fact he is fixed tells us that he was once someone’s pet. ESKIMO has some fractured teeth and exhibits some tremors so the ACC vet suspects possible Cerebellar Hypoplasia which is a neurological condition. ESKIMO is not happy about being in the shelter and was New Hope rated because he is not allowing handling easily. He may not be feeling well but the ACC isn’t going to give him more time to chill out. ESKIMO has until NOON Sunday to live and if you want to see him out of harm’s way, please offer to adopt or foster now. CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Eskimo was resting at the back of the cage When spoken quietly: Eskimo was resting at the back of the cage Reaction to door cage opening: Eskimo wakes up and becomes tense and nervous Reaction to touch: Eskimo hisses and strikes at the assessor. He does not allow petting at all Try picking cat up: Did not attempt to pick Eskimo up due fractious behavior Behavior Determination: NewHope Eskimo seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
