*** SAFE 10/24/16 *** EBONY GUY NOT HAPPY AT THE ACC!! ECLIPSE is 7 months old and NEW HOPE rated….not a surprise since he is probably terrified and most likely has not had a lot or any human contact. He came in with pal DAWN (not listed). Cats like ECLIPSE often come around with time and patience but they’re not going to find that at the ACC…..IF YOU CAN HELP ECLIPSE TONIGHT, CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE. Don’t know any New Hope rescues? Email us at [email protected] and fill out the pre-screener on the Help Desk link!

10/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Eclipse was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Eclipse was curled up tight with his head lowered at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Eclipse lifts his head up and has wide eyes focused on all movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Eclipse remains motionless and starts to grumble. Reaction to touch: Eclipse has wide eyes focused on all movements then lip licks with his body lowered and ears bent flat. He hisses, swats then attempts to flee and currently allows no contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Eclipse is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat and is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
