Safe - 3-28-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: A Tail At A Time Please honor your pledges: http://www.atailatatime.org/donations/
**SAFE 03/28/16** Happy effing Easter from the ACC. While people throughout NYC and beyond are celebrating family and hope, the ACC took advantage of the holiday to load 31 cats onto a MASSIVE euth list. One of those cats is Cotton, and AVERAGE-rated sweetie who was good with the kids in her former home, and who has awesome volunteer comments. Please read these comments and then find a foster/adopter for COTTON, tonight! “A volunteer writes: Cotton is a fluffy tuxedo ball who looks at you with wide eyes. “What are you going to do?” she asks quietly. I extended my hand to her and she sniffed it, then thrust out her chin so I could stroke it as I whispered to her, ever so softly, “don’t worry big girl, I just want to pet you.” Then she rolled over on her back and started purring. I guess it would be pretty easy to convince Cotton to be your lovely lap kitty. She would have to be coaxed, though, slowly but surely, maybe starting with treats and then just petting her. Cotton is the kind of cat who would love you with all her heart.”

03/08/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/08/16 19:14 BASIC INFORMATION Cotton is a 3 year old black and white female DSH. He was given to his family as a gift and had been in their care since a kitten. Cotton is being surrendered into our facility due to owner no longer being able to care due to landlord. There are no recent health injuries or problems. SOCIALIZATION Those who Cotton doesn’t know he will hide and not interact, for those she is familiar with he is friendly and outgoing. She plays gently with both adults and kids. Cotton lived with children both 7 and 16 and is relaxed and affectionate with them. Has no experience with other cats or dogs. There is no known history of her biting another person or animal. BEHAVIOR Often Cotton has litter box accidents. This occurs a few times per week, and she is peeing outside of the box. These accidents have been going on for about 6 month to 1 year. The possible cause of this problem is that it happens when she is in heat. She is scared of the water and doesn’t like baths. Isn’t bothered when having her coat brushed or being picked up and held. Never had her nails trimmed; and being placed in a carrier is a struggle but once in there she is relaxed. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Cotton is described as being friendly with a high activity level. When home she will follow you around and likes to play with her wand toys. She was mostly kept indoors, slept in her bed or anywhere comfortable. She ate both wet and dry food, dry food was provided all day (free feed) wet food was given sometimes at night. Cotton is mostly litter box trained, in a hooded box with clumping litter. Cotton wasn’t provided a scratching post. During intake Cotton allowed handling from counselor but attempted to flee was able to scan (negative), collar and photograph.
